Brett Hagen, O.D.

"I am one of those lucky people that enjoys going to work each day."

As a Northwest Montana native, Dr. Hagen feels right at home in the Inland Northwest. He enjoys running, biking, golfing, skiing, and the many other recreational opportunities the Spokane area provides. If you don’t catch him in the office, chances are you’ll spot him in a local race, triathlon, or simply out adventuring the mountains by hike or bike.

Dr. Hagen received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He received his Doctor of Optometry in 1991 from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. Dr. Hagen first practiced at the East Portland Eye Clinic in Portland, Oregon. In 1994, he moved to Spokane to join Dr. Robin Cameron at Garland Family Vision, which he has since purchased after the practice lost her tragically to breast cancer November, 2000.

Dr. Hagen is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Optometric Physicians of Washington. In 1998-1999, he served as President of the Inland Society of Optometric Physicians of Washington and was the proud recipient of the “Washington Young Optometrist of the Year” in 1999. Dr. Hagen serves as President of the board of The Spokane Guild's School and Neuromuscular Center. He was named their "Outstanding person of the Year" in 2005. He is also the administrator for Eastern Washington/North Idaho Vision Source area and is active in many other local charitable organizations.

Dr. Hagen’s professional interests include primary eye care, contact lenses, ocular disease and refractive surgery co-management. His passion, compassionate nature, and dedication to his profession enable him to provide his patients with thorough and comprehensive eye health care.

As a neighborhood family doctor, Dr. Hagen also deeply values the importance of family. He, and his wife, Lisa Hagen have two children, Lexie and Blake. Lexie, a past employee in the office during her high school years, is a face you may have seen up front. She currently is attending college down in California. Blake is an enthusiastic, special needs middle school boy whose life’s experiences have added an appreciation and perspective to both Doctor Hagen and his family.

Candice L. Curtiss, L.D.O.

Candice L. Curtiss claims that working at Garland Vision Source over the years is her blessed opportunity...but if you ask any of us, we'll tell you the blessing is all ours.

Providing spunk and charm to our office over the last eleven years, "Candy" has intensified her experience, built strong friendships with her clients, all the while providing quality care. She has lived and worked in the Spokane area for the last 35 years, as her career path carried her through various local optical positions. Her breadth of experience spans over all aspects of eyewear. Candice owned and operated the optical boutique "Visual Purple" before positioning herself with Garland Vision Source. Combined, her years of servicing patients in optics totals four generations of care. In this time she’s established life long friendships that are a true testament to her warm personality and kind heart.

Beyond just experience, Candice is a Licensed Dispensing Optician in the state of Washington, active member of both the Opticians Association of Washington and the Spokane Chapter of the Opticians association of WA, as well as a board member for the Vision Care Technology through Spokane Community College.Her experience and qualifications contribute to her role today at Garland Vision Source as expert and go-to person for all matters optical. Her loyalty and love of life are evident when, in regards to her career future, she says, "let's make it five generations!"

Dennis Sollie, L.D.O.

Dennis Sollie is a face and a name you can trust. With experience in optics since 1963, it's no surprise his loyal band of customers is endless. Formally the owner of "Eyes-n-Glass Optixs," Dennis came to Garland Vision Source with sage experience, meticulous skill in optical work, and a profound passion for the work he does.

With a "master optician" distinction, his unique skills have become assets in our office. Equipped to custom fit and design rimless eyewear, adjust and repair glasses, and silver solder repair frames, we have yet to find a frame concern that is out of Dennis' expertise.

Dennis' patients trust him to provide the highest quality and style in prescription eye wear as well as the custom optics required to correct their vision to its absolute finest.
